Where are Grand Beach Resort and Sugar Beach Resort located?

Both resorts are located in the heart of the East Bay Beach District on the shores of East Grand Traverse Bay, just minutes from downtown Traverse City, Michigan.

Are Grand Beach Resort and Sugar Beach Resort family-friendly?

Yes, both resorts warmly welcome families, couples, and business travelers.
 

Is smoking allowed at Grand Beach Resort and Sugar Beach Resort?

No. Both resorts are entirely smoke-free properties. Smoking is not permitted in any guest room, on balconies, or in any public area on the grounds.
 

Can I host a party or large private event at the resort?

We are not able to accommodate private parties or events on the property. For group travel and block bookings, please submit a Group Block Form.
 

What is the minimum age requirement to check in?

Guests must be at least 21 years of age to check in, a valid government-issued photo ID is required.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.
 

Can I request an early check-in?

We cannot guarantee early check-in, but we will do our best to accommodate your request based on room availability. To make a request, please note it at the time of reservation or contact the front desk prior to arrival.
 

Can I request a late check-out?

Yes! A complimentary late check-out until 12:00 PM is available upon request. Please note your preference at the time of reservation so we can plan accordingly.
 

Is luggage storage available?

Unfortunately, we do not have a secure luggage storage area available for guests.

AMENITIES & PROPERTY FEATURES

What amenities are available at Grand Beach Resort and Sugar Beach Resort?

Both resorts offer a wide range of amenities included with your stay:

Is Wi-Fi complimentary?

Yes. High-speed Wi-Fi is complimentary and available in all guest rooms and public areas throughout both properties.
 

Is there a fitness center?

Yes. A fully equipped fitness center is available to all guests at both resorts.
 

What in-room amenities are provided?

All guest rooms include a hairdryer, coffee maker, microwave, and a compact refrigerator. Pack 'n' plays and rollaway beds are available for an additional fee — please request these at the time of booking to ensure availability.
 

Is laundry available on-site?

Yes. Self-serve guest laundry facilities are available at both resorts for your convenience.
 

Is there a bike rack available?

Yes. Bike racks are available at both properties and are located on the east side of each hotel — convenient for guests exploring the nearby TART Trail.
 

Can we use grills outside?

No. Outside grilling is not permitted on the property.
 

Does the hotel offer a shuttle service?

We do not offer a hotel shuttle. However, the Bayline provides local transportation service in the Traverse City area and is a convenient option for guests.
 

What parking options are available?

Complimentary self-parking is available for all registered guests at both resorts. No reservation is required for parking.
 

Are EV charging stations available?

EV charging is available at Sugar Beach Resort only. There is one universal charger. Grand Beach Resort does not currently have EV charging on-site.
 

Are Grand Beach Resort and Sugar Beach Resort pet-friendly?

We love animals, but to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests, pets are not permitted at either resort. ADA-recognized Service Animals are always welcome. Please note that Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) do not qualify as Service Animals under ADA guidelines and cannot be accommodated.
 

How can I use the kayaks and paddleboards on the beach?

Watersport rentals are available right at the resort through TC Watersports. Contact them directly to reserve kayaks, paddleboards, and more:
